Sandra & Sarah-Jane Wedding – Joshua Tree, California

THE STORY BEGINS

Love has a unique way of bringing people together, and for Sandra and Sarah-Jane, their journey from a chance meeting in Texas to a beautiful wedding in Joshua Tree is nothing short of magical.

We were honoured to meet Sarah-Jane and get to know her throughout the journey of making her custom made to measure women’s wedding suit last year and are grateful to both Sarah-Jane and her new wife Sandra for taking the time to answer some questions and share some images from their special day.

Their love story began in Texas, where both Sandra and Sarah-Jane were spending time volunteering, the connection ignited when Sandra picked up Sarah-Jane from the airport, organised as part of their volunteer work. Surprisingly, Sandra had seen Sarah-Jane give a talk online before they officially met and it was on that day that the sparks flew, and the chemistry between them ignited.

Their first date unfolded in the bustling city of Houston, Texas. Sandra, on a pastry delivery mission, invited Sarah-Jane for a stroll around the city to capture some memorable photos. As an unexpected bonus, the date coincided with Valentine’s Day, adding an extra layer of romance to the beginning of their love story.

THE LOCATION & VENUE

On November 11, 2023, Sandra and Sarah-Jane exchanged vows in a picturesque ceremony as the sun set over the town of Joshua Tree, California.

Opting for an intimate elopement, Sandra suggested Joshua Tree, unknowingly picking Sarah-Jane’s favourite wedding location. They tied the knot in front of their beautiful Airbnb, ensuring a reliable internet connection for their family and friends in Australia who joined virtually.

THE BIG DAY

Their wedding embraced both Sandra and Sarah-Jane’s styles with a touch of minimalism, creating a beautifully authentic celebration.

Sandra & Sarah-Jane chose to elope and the guest list was kept intimate, with only Sandra’s mother and sister, who also served as the photographer for the day in attendance.

After the intimate ceremony they strolled to their “reception” at a local restaurant and enjoyed homemade country-style food together for their first shared meal as wife and wife.

Sandra looked effortlessly chic in an Ivana midi champagne wedding dress from Billy J Boutique, paired with Nina Bridal shoes and flowers from The House of Florals. To complement Sandra’s champagne dress and tie in with the earthy tones of the Joshua Tree setting Sarah-Jane looked incredible in a beautifully tailored sand linen custom made to measure ladies wedding suit from Rundle Tailoring with custom embroidery inside the jacket. Accessorised with a floral bow-tie and cufflinks from Peggy & Finn, floral buttonhole and Converse high-tops.

THE SPECIAL MEMORIES

Sandra’s favourite memory was the walk down the aisle, seeing Sarah-Jane’s reaction and realising she was about to marry her best friend. For Sarah-Jane, the sight of Sandra appearing at the doorway and sharing their vows were the standout moments of their special day.
