The Fashion Revolution is here and Rundle Tailoring opens its factory doors to showcase the talent of its local employees right here in Newcastle.
As one of the country’s last Australian-made suit manufacturers, Rundle Tailoring is proud to join the global Fashion Revolution movement campaigning for a more sustainable and transparent fashion industry.
Fashion Revolution Week, which is now in its fifth year, runs from April 23 to April 29 and is a worldwide campaign that hopes to transform the fashion industry starting with one simple question: Who made my clothes?
Last year more than 2 million people engaged with the revolution through events, postings on social media, viewing videos and downloading resources from the organisations website. This year is expected to be even bigger.
Rundle Tailoring has jumped on board to profile their skilled local staff through its social media platforms. This has been very well received and has had hundreds of likes and comments from the local, national and international community. The loyalty and dedication of the Rundle Tailoring team is a true testament to both the staff and management and it is an honour to be able to tell their unique and humbling stories.
In a bid to raise awareness that after 110 years they are still manufacturing suits onsite here in Newcastle, the Rundle Tailoring team also conducted a live suit making demonstration in their shop front window. This attracted a lot of attention from passers-by, with the NBN local news team even dropping by.
This video is an engaging snap shot of the suit-making process as conducted on the day. It shows complete transparency in what goes on behind-the-scenes to deliver a made-to-measure suit from the first to the final fitting.
Thank you for supporting your local suit manufacturer, Rundle Tailoring. To find out more about the Fashion Revolution you can visit their website at www.fashionrevolution.org.
