For 118 years, Rundle Tailoring has been creating Made-to-Measure suits, sports coats, blazers, trousers and vests for men and women. Our craft is grounded in the traditions of true bespoke tailoring and considered service, while embracing both classic and contemporary style.

There are many ways to buy a suit, but when you want something that genuinely feels like yours, the experience is different. That’s because Made-to-Measure begins with you. Your posture. Your proportions. How you want to feel when you wear it.

Everyone who walks through our doors is welcomed with warmth, dignity and respect. During your Made-to-Measure consultation with us, every element is selected with intention, from fabric and colour to lining and finishing details. If you arrive with a clear vision, we’ll help refine it. If you’re unsure, we’ll guide you through the process step by step. You’ll have the opportunity to explore some of the world’s finest cloths too, including Holland & Sherry, Dormeuil, Dino Filarte, Vitale Barberis Canonico and Stylebiella.

A Made-to-Measure garment is a timeless investment — not only for those with non-standard measurements, but for anyone who values craftsmanship and longevity. Whether you’re having a suit made for work, a wedding, a formal occasion or simply because you want something that fits beautifully, there is something quietly powerful about wearing a piece made specifically for you. And it’s often more accessible than many expect.

The process from start to finish is guided by Andrew Rundle, a tailor with more than 35 years’ experience, trained by Italian master tailor Giovanni D’Amico. You also have the option to work with Bronwyn Rundle on styling and fabric selections. It typically takes four to six weeks, resulting in a suit crafted specifically for you.

While every piece is designed with you in-store, guided by our team, there are three options for how your garment can be crafted:

1. International

Our international ateliers deliver beautifully cut garments that meet the Rundle Tailoring standards. Every piece is measured and fitted in-house for a perfect result. The cut, quality and value this offering has made it our most popular option.

2. Dormeuil

Crafted by Dormeuil master tailors in Portugal, this option lets you select from more than 200 premium fabrics. Customise your cut, finishing details and styling, while our in-house tailor ensures impeccable measurements and an elegant fit.

3. Australian-Made

Made here in Newcastle by our skilled cutters and sewers, these garments proudly carry the Australian Made tick of approval. With this option, you can be assured of exceptional workmanship, quality and attention to detail.

What To Expect

FIRST FITTING

FIRST FITTING

You’ll be measured up by our head tailor Andrew Rundle, who has 35 years of tailoring experience. Alongside Andrew, Bronwyn Rundle will deliver a personal style session, walking you through selecting the details of your garments.
Your Made-to-Measure experience begins with our in-store fitting samples. You can see, touch, and try on these garments. Many other Made-to-Measure tailors don’t offer samples, which makes this part of our process one of the things that sets us apart.
From there, Andrew refines your measurements and Bronwyn helps you with every design decision, from fabric and lining to lapels, pockets, and buttons. The process is highly collaborative and enjoyable.
SECOND FITTING

SECOND FITTING

Four to six weeks later, your garment is ready and we’ll invite you to come back in for a second fitting. This is where you can see and try on your Made-to-Measure piece for the first time.
Andrew checks the fit and notes any fine-tuning required, which are performed by our on-site seamstresses within a few days (or sometimes, on the spot). If little to no alterations are needed, you can take it home at the end of your fitting.
FINAL FITTING

FINAL FITTING

If required, we’ll schedule a final fitting to ensure you and Andrew are happy with the adjustments. Bronwyn will also be on hand to show you how to make the most of your new investment with practical styling advice, and to help you select from our range of accessories to complete your look.

We create Made-to-Measure suits and apparel for a wide range of male and female clients — from businesspeople and CEOs, to wedding couples, school formal students, and young professionals just starting their careers. What suit fabrics can I choose from?

We have hundreds of fabric samples for you to browse, from quality wool available through our international suppliers all the way to premium options from the likes of Holland & Sherry, Dino Filarte, Dormeuil, Vitale Barberis Canonico and more.

What if I’m not sure what I want my suit to look like?

If you’re not quite sure what you want yet, that’s perfectly fine — that’s what we’re here for.

Unlike many made-to-measure services that simply take your measurements and send them off to a cutter, we guide you through a far more hands-on process. In-store, you’ll have the opportunity to try on a selection of sample garments. Head tailor Andrew uses these to refine your fit with precision, but they also allow you to see and feel a made-to-measure suit on your body — helping you understand what you like, what you don’t, and what feels most like you.

We always encourage clients to bring inspiration or reference images if they have them, but you don’t need a fully formed vision. Andrew and Bronwyn will help you shape the details — from silhouette and cloth to finishing touches — ensuring your final garment feels considered, personal and entirely your own.

How long does a Made-to-Measure suit take to make?

Your initial consultation takes approximately one hour, during which we refine your fit, cloth selection and design details.

From there, your garment is crafted over 4–6 weeks. As soon as it is finished, our team will contact you to arrange your fitting appointment — the moment you try your suit on for the first time.

If only minimal or no alterations are required, you’ll be able to take your suit home that day. Should any final refinements be needed, we complete these promptly, with collection typically just a few days later.

Every stage is handled with care to ensure the finished piece fits exactly as it should.

How much should I expect to pay?

Our Made-to-Measure suits are crafted from the world’s finest fabrics, ensuring a garment that’s tailored precisely to you. Depending on your fabric choice and design selections, shirts start from $225, jackets from $800, 2-piece suits from $1100, and 3-piece suits from $1400. Our ready-to-wear, Made-to-Measure samples start at $999 for a 2-piece suit.

What if I have a unique or unusual design in mind?

From Victorian Gothic coats to wedding suits inspired by The Matrix, you’d be surprised what we’ve created from a unique suit vision. If you have something specific in mind, it’s always worth booking a complimentary consultation. Bring your references, your Pinterest board, or simply an idea — and together we’ll explore what’s possible, guided by craftsmanship and careful consideration.

Can I bring someone along to my Made-to-Measure appointment?

Absolutely. Many of our MTM clients will bring someone along – or video call them during the appointment – to help with the decision making process.
