Celebrating 7 Years

7 years ago today Andrew & Brownyn popped a bottle of champagne at local institution Bar Petite after they became the proud owners of Rundle Tailoring when they purchased the business from Andrew’s parents Peter & Mira on their retirement. Keeping the business in the family, respecting the incredibly rich history, and growing the business into the future was of the highest importance to Andrew & Bronwyn. The husband-and-wife team bring complimentary skills with Andrew bringing a strong tailoring skill set to the team and Bronwyn focused on marketing, they continue to grow the business while raising their young family together.

While they had both been working in the business for a long time it was 7 years ago today that Andrew & Bronwyn took over the reins to lead Rundle Tailoring into a modern tailoring shop where people come to get up to date styling advice, high fashion tailoring, feel comfortable as soon as they step in store and are looked after with the utmost care.

Today we reflect on where we are steering Rundle Tailoring while respecting the past and the incredibly rich history of over 115 years and four generations of Rundles serving Newcastle & Australia in high quality suiting, Australian manufacturing, and old-fashioned customer service.

We continually offer the old-fashioned service and high quality of product we have always been known for which is why we have so many repeat customers while catering to the fashion forward customer as we reposition the business as the leaders in men’s fashion in Newcastle & the Hunter Valley. We are also proud to be developing our ladies made to measure service helping many women with their custom wedding suits so they too can experience the level of service and quality we have always been proud of.

Andrew & Bronwyn together have worked hard to establish Rundle Tailoring as the #1 grooms destination for wedding suits winning ABIA Wedding Awards in both 2021 and 2023, being named the Sassies Best Suit/ Dress Hire – People’s Choice Award & Best Suit/ Dress Hire – Awarded by the Sassy celebrants for being the Sassiest in the Hunter Wedding Industry for the last 2 years along with many other accolades.

We are incredibly proud to work with our community and to give back to the community that supports us like our forebearers have always done and we will continue to do this.

We have faced challenges over the years having to pivot during the pandemic and turn our working factory into a face mask making factory and are proud to have serviced both our local and national community at a time when there was a shortage of face masks in Australia. We kept our staff employed and employed more staff to keep up with the demand around Australia in a time when people were out of work.

A business highlight was when Andrew & Bronwyn’s 14-year-old son Harry started working in the store during the holidays, continuing on the family tradition.
