In the small coastal town of Bicheno, Tasmania, surrounded by ocean, sunshine, and thirty of their closest family and friends, Sophie and Liam said “I do” in a celebration that felt every bit like home.
Their love story began just a few doors apart — Sophie, a florist, and Liam, a butcher — brought together by chance, coffee, and an instant spark. “Our story began just a few doors apart. I worked in a florist shop and Liam in a butcher shop. I was taking the bins out one day and I saw this handsome man down the back, he asked me out for coffee and the rest was history.” Since then, their relationship has been defined by adventure and authenticity: from van trips around Tasmania to exploring the quiet lakes and wild lupin fields of New Zealand, where Liam proposed with a bespoke ring featuring both their birthstones.
When it came to their wedding day, the pair set out to create something deeply personal. Their day was relaxed, sun-soaked, and true to the life they love together. Every detail, from Sophie’s handcrafted bouquet made lovingly by Liam, to his perfectly tailored suit from Rundle Tailoring and finishing touch hat, reflected the simple beauty of their story.
Here, Sophie shares more about their day — the moments that made it magic, the details that made it theirs, and the memories they’ll hold onto for a lifetime.
The Wedding
“We were married on 1st March 2025 in the small coastal town in Bicheno, Tasmania, shared with 30 of our closest family and friends,” says Sophie.
The wedding was filled with thoughtful touches that reflected Sophie and Liam’s shared values of simplicity, creativity, and connection. “For us, it was all about chasing the feeling of home. We wanted it outside, surrounded by the ocean, nature, and the sun. Everything was perfectly simple and relaxed, making sure our day felt true to us and the life we love together.”
One of the most special details was Sophie’s flannel flower bouquet, lovingly crafted by Liam and his siblings on the morning of the wedding. Sophie recalls watching through the window as they carefully arranged the flowers — a small, heartfelt moment that became one of their most cherished memories of the day.
“As a florist myself, it felt so special to let go of that part of the day and trust it to my favourite person. The morning of our wedding, I caught this sweet little moment looking through the window of Liam, his brother, and his sister carefully sorting the flowers for my bouquet. It was easily one of our favourite and most special parts from our day.”
The Vows
A few days before their wedding, Sophie and Liam found themselves in a cosy Tasmanian coffee shop, sitting across from each other and writing their vows by hand. They would look up, smile, and try to guess what the other was writing. When the day came, reading those words aloud to one another in front of their loved ones became one of the most unforgettable parts of their celebration.
The Outfits
Sophie wore a stunning Lucien silk gown by Rachel Gilbert, together with a floor-length veil from Saving Grace Bridal, By Charlotte earrings and Unison shoes for a softly feminine look. Liam chose a classic linen suit by Uberstone in a sand colour that beautifully complemented the rugged natural landscape and Sophie’s incredible floral styling. It was proof that even ready-to-wear suit, when perfectly altered, can look priceless. He finished his relaxed yet refined aesthetic with a Will & Bear felt hat and Kleman shoes.
Why They Chose Rundle Tailoring
“We chose Rundle Tailoring because they truly care about what they do,” says Sophie. “From the moment we walked in, they made Liam feel comfortable and confident. Their eye for detail and genuine advice made all the difference — his suit fit perfectly and Liam felt like himself on our most special day.”
Advice for Other Couples
“There are no rules — only stories,” Sophie shares. “Choose the place and the people that make your hearts feel at home. There’s something so beautiful about two people choosing to do things completely their own way to create a day that is uniquely theirs. Slow down, hold hands often, and soak in every in between moments. ”
Liam’s suit, refined through our in-house tailoring for the perfect fit, was a beautiful reflection of the day itself: thoughtful, personal, and timeless. Seeing couples like Sophie and Liam celebrate their love in garments crafted with care and attention to detail is what continues to inspire us.
