An Evening Of Celebrating In Fashion
The Newcastle Knights Awards Evening was a night of recognition and reflection as the team looks ahead to 2026 season with renewed optimism (and a new head coach in Justin Holbrook).
Jacob Saifiti was honoured with the prestigious 2025 Danny Buderus Medal for his outstanding contributions on the field, while Dane Gagai earned the Player’s Player award for the second consecutive year. The Gladiator of the Year award, chosen by the Once A Knight Old Boys, went to Fletcher Sharpe, while Dylan Lucas received Community Player of the Year once again for his work with initiatives like Boots for Brighter Futures and Ronald McDonald House. Thanks to a memorable late winning try against the Dolphins in Round 16, Brodie Jones was named Knight in Shining Armour, and Jermaine McEwen is the 2025 Rookie of the Year. The evening also marked a significant moment with the departure of Coach Adam O’Brien, closing an era at Knights HQ.
