The love story begins
Newcastle Knight’s prop forward, Jacob Saifiti, got together with his beloved Immogen back in May 2015.
After seven years together, at a romantic lakeside setting, Jacob got down on one knee to propose with a stunning diamond ring to his delighted bride-to-be.
The moment was made even more special by their two dogs, Koba and Teo, who helped Jacob pop the question. Both wore black custom collar tags, one saying ‘Will you please’ and the other ‘Marry our Dad.’
On a beautiful spring day in the Hunter Valley in October last year, Jacob and Immogen exchanged vows in a gorgeous ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
The location & venue
Jacob and Immogen wanted a wedding venue that would be close for their families to travel to. They also wanted to ensure there was ample accommodation.
They came across Stonehurst Cedar Creek, nestled in the foothills of the Wollombi Valley and absolutely fell in love with the outdoor reception area.
With its 500 acres of farmland, vineyards, winding rivers and majestic mountains, it’s easy to see why they were smitten with this location.
The property’s seven private, self-contained vineyard cottages with luxury inclusions, including a claw bath and wood fire, were perfect for their guests.
The big day
Immogen absolutely glowed as a bride in a stunning off-the-shoulder A-line dress from The Ivory Room Bridal set off with a simple and elegant white bouquet.
Meanwhile, Jacob looked sharp in a custom-made-to-measure Rundle Tailoring ivory jacket complete with special personalised embroidery inside the pocket, black tailored dress pants, Gibson Clothing Archie shirt and Joe Black Official bow tie with black patent Florsheim shoes, boleros and matching belt.
The bridesmaids wore ivory satin, while the groomsmen, all fellow NRL legends, including Jacob’s twin brother Daniel, wore sharp black Saville Row dinner suits, differentiating them from the groom.
The wedding scene had a minimal aisle with scattered single-stemmed roses and a beautiful love nest to showcase the amazing views behind it. The celebrant was a close friend.
Despite having 150 guests, the reception was a relaxed and intimate outdoor, which was the vibe they were after. Appetites were satiated with shared plates, bubbles, wine and beer.
After the reception and formalities were done, the big group, a mix of families and mutual friends, danced the night away under the fairy lights.
The special memories
Like many weddings, one of the highlights of their day was the spoken addresses and toasts, as Immogen shares:
“The speeches were a big highlight with plenty of tears shed—mainly from every joke cracked by Jacob’s brother.”
They also loved having their dogs present on the day. “We love our dogs (like really love them) and knew we couldn’t not have them there. It will forever be one of the best decisions we made.”
The Rundle experience
Jacob was more than happy with the experience of working with us when it came to choosing the suits for himself and the male side of the bridal party.
“Every suit was perfectly tailored to the different heights and builds of myself and my groomsman. I can’t recommend Rundle Tailoring enough.”
Thanks again for your support of our local family business, Jacob and Immogen. We loved being a small part of your special day.
