On a beautiful afternoon, the golden sun bathed Kangaroo Valley in its warm glow as Victoria and Nathan exchanged vows on May 6th in the stunning NSW Southern Highlands. The ceremony was a heartfelt celebration of love, laced with the unique Fren Family humour that has endeared them to audiences on Nine’s Travel Guides.
The stunning backdrop for the ceremony in the rock cathedral.
To honour Nathan’s Aboriginal heritage, the ceremony commenced with a moving Acknowledgment of Country delivered by his cousin Brenden, accompanied by a soul-stirring didgeridoo performance. Despite the recent passing of Nathan’s beloved grandfather, Barry, just a week before the wedding, his presence was felt as the sun illuminated their special day.
Nathan’s cousin Brenden gave a moving Acknowledgement of Country to begin the ceremony.
Victoria was a vision of beauty as she walked down the aisle, accompanied by her father Mark Fren, to the sweet melody of “You’re Still the One.” Against the backdrop of an ancient rock cathedral framed by majestic gum trees, the scene was nothing short of magical. Laughter and tears intermingled throughout the ceremony, as Victoria playfully promised to keep supplying Nathan with duty-free alcohol from her globetrotting adventures with her renowned family.
Victoria’s bohemian luxe lace gown by Belles-and-Beaux stole the breath of everyone present. The dress featured exquisite lace sleeves, an open back, and a modern fishtail silhouette that perfectly accentuated her radiant beauty. Nathan, dressed by Rundle Tailoring, looked dashing in a Daniel Hechter three-piece linen suit, complemented by his groomsmen in two-piece suits. They all donned Peggy & Finn black grass tree ties in earthy tones and Florsheim Barrett tan boots to complete the look. Let’s not forget about the adorable page boys who added a touch of charm in their stylish attire. They wore smart linen pants, crisp white shirts, and accessorized with black Peggy & Finn braces featuring wood buckles. The finishing touch was the matching grass tree black bow ties, completing their adorable and dapper looks.
Mark was emotional as he walked his beautiful daughter Victoria down the aisle.
Our team worked closely with Victoria, Nathan, and the Fren family to bring their vision of a bush-inspired wedding with earthy tones to life. Nathan and his groomsmen donned beautiful natural linen suits, harmonizing with custom-made suits for the bridesman, father of the bride, and brother of the bride.
Jake, Victoria’s bridesman, donned a dreamy rust-coloured custom suit that elegantly tied together the earthy tones from the Peggy & Finn grass tree black ties, bouquets, and the breathtaking Kangaroo Valley backdrop. We crafted a deep green custom suit for Jonathan, while Mark, the proud father of the bride, stole the show in a show-stopping custom three-piece deep red dinner jacket adorned with floral Jarrad and gold trim, paired with black floral embossed dress trousers and vest & red floral bow tie. All the suits were adorned with custom embroidery inside the jackets, serving as cherished mementos of the special day.

Following drinks on the sunset deck and a delightful photo session for the newlyweds, the reception kicked off in high spirits. The highlight of the evening was undeniably the couple’s first dance. Victoria and Nathan had dedicated weeks to rehearsals with the talented instructors from Newcastle’s Your First Dance Co. Their six-song mash-up, accompanied by dry ice, fireworks, and a live band, captivated the guests and set the tone for a joyous celebration.
The delicious grazing board.
Celebrity friends Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie took the helm as hosts for the evening, ensuring that everyone was thoroughly entertained. Rabbit & Co Caterers curated a sumptuous banquet, and the Peter Drayton Wines from Pokolbin flowed freely, tantalizing the taste buds of all in attendance.
As the formalities drew to a close, guests indulged in the Peachy Booths photo booth run by fellow Travel Guides co-star Michael Teng capturing unforgettable memories, and savoured delectable desserts from The Patisserie Oak Flats. The night concluded with loved ones gathering around a blazing bonfire, basking in the warmth and the joyous company. Victoria and Nathan bid farewell to their reception, passing through a heartfelt human tunnel of love.
The bridal table looked beautiful
The Fren family & all the guests couldn’t have been more delighted with their unique wedding venue, the food & music awarding the wedding a perfect score five out of five as if they were rating it on Travel Guides.
