While we’ve long created custom suiting for women, the expansion of our sample collection marks a fresh chapter for Rundle Tailoring, designed with the modern woman in mind. We’ve designed these new samples so that customers can try them on, and also see and feel some of the design elements available to them. But when you begin your Made-to-Measure journey, you’ll discover that the possibilities really are endless when it comes to creating your perfect garment. Rest assured, Andrew, our head tailor with over 30 years’ experience, will be there to guide you every step of the way.
Introducing Stella
New to our suit sample range is Stella, a timeless black dinner suit that redefines elegance. Crafted with a satin peak lapel, strong shoulders and straight-leg trousers featuring side adjusters, Stella strikes a balance between sharp tailoring and feminine sophistication. She’s the suit that turns heads at formal and black-tie events, makes a statement as a wedding ensemble, and transitions effortlessly into separates for day or evening wear. For added wearability, we opted to design the trousers without a traditional satin side stripe, though customers can include it in their own Made-to-Measure piece.
We use our sample suits in the design process of the Made-to-Measure journey, as a base from which to tailor your own suit. Once Andrew has found the best sample for your shape and preferences, he’ll use the sample suit to take your measurements and tailor the garment just for you. That means you’ll be able to see how he adjusts the hems, shortens or lengthens the jacket, tapers the waist, even moves the placement of buttons and pockets according to your specifications. You’ll get a feel for the finished product as it will look and fit on you, in real time.

Alongside Stella, we’re introducing a refined selection of Made-to-Measure shirting samples. Available in 100% silk and 100% cotton, and a palette including ivory, blush, latte, chartreuse, stone and blue with white contrast collar and cuffs, they show how we can design elevated Made-to-Measure shirts for both business and occasion. Each piece reflects the craftsmanship and care we’re known for, combining timeless quality with effortless wear.
With the exception of the Winchester shirt — a classic formal shirt design featuring a contrast collar, cuffs and buttons — all of the sample Made-to-Measure shirts are fly front. We opted to cover the front buttons to give the shirt a more tailored look, easily dressed up or down, however when it comes to Made-to-Measure, the choice is completely up to you. You’ll select your shirt buttons from our wide range, and many Made-to-Measure shirt customers also add embroidered initials on the placket or cuff for an added level of personalisation. You’ll choose from hundreds of shirting fabrics, and can select any contrasting colours and patterns for the cuffs and collar if that’s your thing.
Most importantly, a Made-to-Measure shirt is tailored for your shape. Plenty of women will know how difficult it can be to find a shirt that fits well, so if you’re always struggling with sleeve or shirt lengths, struggle to get a comfortable fit over your bust, or dislike the way shirt collars sit on you, a Made-to-Measure shirt is the answer.
And for those after beautifully made ready-to-wear options, our new James Harvest shirts have arrived. They’re available in black, white and blue, in premium cotton blends designed to bring everyday sophistication to your corporate and casual wardrobe.
Design your own or buy the sample
Because these are Made-to-Measure samples, you have two pathways:
Design your own: Use the sample as a base and customise it to your exact preferences. Change the style of the lapel, the pockets, the trouser hems, and more. Choose from our extensive selection of fabrics, linings, finishes (buttons, buckles and more). This is a highly detailed and customisable process, and it takes four to six weeks for your suit to arrive.
Purchase a sample: If you love the way a sample looks and fits, we can simply alter the fit for you. While this route means the actual design details, like fabric and lining, can’t be changed, we find some customers love the samples we’ve designed and would prefer to purchase them as is. Choosing this option means you can usually take the suit home on the day.
