We were delighted to reveal on Monday night that we dressed local lad Josh and his groomsmen for his wedding on Married at First Sight which airs nationally on Channel 9.
It’s the second year we have had the opportunity to dress a groom from #MAFS and we are grateful that they choose to shop local again this year and support our family business along with other Newcastle local businesses when they were in town with the production crew filming for the show.
Josh, a 28-year-old industrial operator and truck driver and, Cathy, a 26-year-old logistics investigator, were glowing when they wed on a beautiful sunny day at Wyong Creek on the Central Coast of New South Wales.
After dreaming that her husband-to-be would be “really Aussie” with “light hair, blue/green eyes”, Cathy walked down the aisle accompanied by her best friend Marco.
Josh looked hopeful as he waited for Cathy to arrive. “I always wanted to find that partner to spend the rest of my life with,” he said before the wedding.
“I’m committed to everything and I just hope she’s exactly the same.”
While she admitted to nerves on the way to the ceremony, Cathy was beaming after seeing Josh at the end of the aisle. She quickly realised that her premonition about who her groom was had come true.
“You absolute bloody ripper,” Josh said when he laid eyes on his bride for the first time.
Cathy also admitted to feeling an “initial attraction”. She was blown away by how closely he matched the man she dreamed she would marry.
No wonder Cathy had an “initial attraction “ to Josh as he looked very handsome in his New England 3 piece Penn wedding suit paired with Geoffrey Beene white shirt, Collezione black tie and pocket square and Florsheim black dress shoes. As a point of difference and to showcase Josh as the groom, we dressed Josh’s groomsmen in New England 2 piece Charcoal Penn suits, Geoffrey Beene white shirt, Collezione black tie and Florsheim black dress shoes. These grey tones worked in perfectly with the bridesmaid dusty lilac dresses. Cathy looked stunning in her Mariana Hardwick Nahla gown from Hope X Page bridal boutique.
Josh says of his Rundle Tailoring experience “You guys were the absolute best” “thanks for all your help! Could not have been happier with the suit and thank you!”
Josh has a great sense of humour and his wedding vows that he wrote himself were a reflection of his great personality and the fun loving ways.
Josh’s Vows:
“Roses are red, violets are blue, everything Mum told me about stranger danger, smack bang out the window when I decided to marry you.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, or how this is going to end, but I promise to give this everything, and work on becoming something more than just your new best friend.
“I’m an easy-going, laidback guy, that has a heart — well, everyone has a heart — that has a big heart, and what I believe to be good morals and family values.
“I want to bring out the best in you, but most of all, I just want to be someone you’re proud to call your husband.”
Cathy’s Vows:
“To my dearest new lover, when I dreamt of the man who would be my husband, I hoped he would have qualities that are similar to the ones I’m most proud of within myself: honesty, loyalty, trust and good banter.
“The unknown is scary, but I’ll have you know that you have all of me. So give me all of you and I’ll give you the world.”
Both Cathy and Josh let out a “woo” after the celebrant declared them man and wife, which they followed up with their first kiss.
“I’m looking for my forever and it’s the perfect start,” Josh said after the ceremony.
He and Cathy walked hand-in-hand to their wedding photo shoot.
The ceremony was held under this stunning archway, which was adorned with flowing white fabric and pastel flower arrangements.
The spot where Cathy and Josh said their vows looked like something out of a fairy tale, with flowers winding up the wooden posts and white pots filled with purple and cream blooms.
The chemistry between Cathy and Josh was evident as they cuddled up for their wedding photos.
They only met hours earlier but Cathy and Josh embraced their new relationship with another kiss.
Cathy and Josh looked every inch the happy couple as they stood in a classic wedding photo pose.
Their wedding got that little bit more romantic when a horse and carriage arrived to take the couple to their reception.
Cathy and Josh looked relaxed as they travelled to the reception where their friends and families waited.
The banter flowed easily between Cathy and Josh. But she was a little dismayed when he revealed he liked fish but not prawns. He quickly backtracked by saying “Oh I love it, seafood’s unreal” with a cheeky shake of his head.
“I’m feeling great around my new wife, she’s so easy going, she can make me laugh and she’s beautiful,” Josh admitted. “Those big brown eyes, they got me straight away — hook line and bloody sinker.”
Cathy confessed to feeling the same way, “I really like Josh. There was that initial attraction and we’ve just been laughing this whole time.”
Ever the gentleman, Josh gave Cathy his jacket to keep her warm as they mingled with their guests.
Their three-tier cake adorned with floral inspired decorations looked stunning.
The happy couple did the traditional cake cutting before sharing a slice.
Despite the strong start to their relationship, both Cathy and Josh worried if their feelings were reciprocated. So Josh took Cathy outside to tell her how he was feeling.
“I’m crushing hard, like, to be honest with you,” he told Cathy.
She replied, “I feel the same way.”
And then they went in for another kiss.
With the festivities over, Cathy and Josh headed to their hotel for their first night as husband and wife.
Time will tell if the chemistry and cheeky banter continues to grow for the couple and we wish them all the best on their journey to find love.

Rundle Wedding Tip:
Dressing the groom in a three piece suit and the groomsmen in two piece suits is a great way to differentiate the groom from the groomsmen. Taking it up another level like Josh did and wearing a different colour suit to the groomsmen will leave no question about who the dashing groom is!
