Fitting the Newcastle Knights is a unique exercise in precision, logistics, care and trust.
Ahead of the 2026 season, Rundle Tailoring was delighted to return to the Newcastle Knights’ Centre of Excellence to fit more than 80 players, coaches and staff in their corporate uniforms. From initial uniform selection through to final alterations, the focus remained the same — ensuring everyone feels comfortable, confident and part of a united, professional team when representing the club.
Selecting the 2026 Uniform
Before fittings began, our team prepared a curated selection of corporate uniform options for the 2026 season. These were presented to Jodie Cross, Peter Parr and Chris James, with players also reviewing the proposed elements.
Once the uniform components were agreed upon, we scheduled a dayt at the Centre of Excellence to measure and fit the entire group.
On-Site Fittings, Done Properly
Players, coaches and male staff were fitted in Gibson navy suits, Brooksfield shirts, Martino Carolus footwear and Buckle belts. Female staff were fitted in Made-to-Measure navy suits with matching notch lapel jackets, creating a cohesive look across the organisation.
With a professional rugby league squad, body shapes vary significantly. Some players required made-to-measure garments to suit their size, while others needed careful tailoring refinements to ready-to-wear suits. Every garment was tailored to the individual — sleeve length, jacket tapering and trouser length — so it fits properly and feels great when representing the club.
The goal is always the same — ensuring players, coaches and staff feel part of a united, professional team.
Local Craftsmanship, Ongoing Support
Once fittings were complete and garments were ordered from our trusted supply partners, they were delivered to our Newcastle factory, where our talented team of seamstresses and tailors carried out the required alterations and finishing. Each jacket, trouser and shirt was individually adjusted, pressed and carefully prepared. Shoes were boxed and labelled, and every uniform set organised for seamless distribution back to the club.
This behind-the-scenes stage is where craftsmanship becomes visible. Small refinements — sleeve length, trouser hems and jacket tapering — are what elevate a corporate uniform from standard issue to something that feels personal and considered.
Working locally means these adjustments can be completed quickly and accurately. It also allows for ongoing support throughout the season, whether that’s further alterations, additional fittings or accommodating new players and staff as the year progresses.
Why the Details Matter
Players, coaches and staff regularly attend sponsor events, community appearances, media commitments and arrive at home games representing the club. When garments are tailored properly to the individual, it changes how they feel in them. That comfort and confidence translates into posture, presence and professionalism. Dressing the Newcastle Knights is a responsibility we value. It’s a partnership built on trust, shared pride in Newcastle and a commitment to presenting the club at its best.
“Andrew and the team at Rundle Tailoring provide a seamless, friendly experience, delivering perfectly fitted, premium suits that meet the high standards of the Newcastle Knights. Their attention to detail and dedication to quality make them the perfect fit for our club’s off-field look,” says Jodie Cross, Newcastle Knights Chief Commercial Officer.
