Emily and Jordan’s paths crossed by chance six years ago, when Jordan helped a friend move into Emily’s then share-house. He didn’t know then that he’d met the love of his life, but after a dinner date in Terrigal at Harrigan’s (one of Emily’s favourite restaurants), the pair were started on a path toward their recent beautiful wedding in The Hunter Valley.
The couple celebrated their nuptials in February at the elegant voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley. The wait was well worth it, as the lovely couple navigated pandemic rescheduling to end up right where they were meant to be. Emily and Jordan immediately fell in love with the Pokolbin manor estate, with its wrap-around balconies, French windows, manicured gardens and rolling hills the perfect backdrop for their union.
Their elegant garden wedding had a classic theme with a touch of casual, as the couple opted for beige linen Uberstone suits from Rundle Tailoring to complement the greens of the countryside setting. Jordan wore a 3-piece suit to differentiate from his groomsmen, who were outfitted in 2-piece suits. He kept his collar open to compliment the relaxed-classic theme of their wedding. The soft neutrals accentuated the stunning Hunter Valley scenery, and let the landscape speak for itself. Emily looked beyond beautiful in a strapless lace gown from Kel-Leigh Couture, with a train and a floor-length veil.
Emily and her party carried gorgeous bouquets of garden roses in white, pale peach and pink. The venue was filled with installations of matching flowers, completed tastefully with decorative foliage. These made for a gorgeous backdrop against which Emily & Jordan said their vows.
While reflecting on the couple’s favourite moments of their wedding, Emily describes her highlights as “walking down the aisle and seeing the look on Jordan’s face, seeing everything come together, and all our family and friends, after two years of rescheduling. And the sneaky moment we took to walk away from the reception and have to ourselves.”
While reminiscing on their celebration, Jordan reflects that “my nerves were pretty high that day. The weather had been horrid and we had planned a fully outdoor wedding! The moment that I saw Emily walking down the aisle all of my nerves and worries left me, that was a pretty special feeling to have and I’ll remember it forever. Also, when we were giving our wedding speeches and the things that Emily wrote and said about me pretty much brought me to tears, plus the dancefloor with all of our friends and family was a massive highlight after all of the obstacles along the way.”
Emily and Jordan basked in the love and support of their 75 guests while celebrating their first hours as a married couple. They enjoyed their first dance to Higher Love by James Vincent McMorrow, a song which appealed to both their differing music tastes.
For engaged couples starting their wedding planning, Emily and Jordan offer this advice:
“Really enjoy the process, do not let other people’s opinions on what you should do affect your decisions, and to not get swept up in the world of Instagram and Pinterest of these big million-dollar weddings you think you need. It’s just about the two of you celebrating your love with your friends and family.”
When describing their experience being fitted for suits from Rundle Tailoring, the couple had this to say: “the guys in the store are super helpful and really know their stuff. We came in with a few different ideas and they helped us to pick the perfect suits. The process of ordering and then fitting the suits was seamless even though we went through a couple of lock-downs in the process. Really great team.”
We’d like to offer our sincere congratulations to Emily and Jordan, for celebrating your special love with such a beautiful wedding.
