Danielle Foster is a a successful promotions manager at Southern Cross Austero working on Triple M and beloved member of the Newcastle community. She also runs the Straight From The Chest blog, which provides support for young people living with breast cancer. As a survivor of breast cancer herself, she is passionate about giving raw and honest advice to young women diagnosed with the disease.
Jack and Danielle’s father’s were best friends growing up so the couple first met when they were kids. As teenagers they lost touch and then reconnected at a Steeley Dan concert in the vineyards when they were in their 20’s, and they fell for each other straight away.
They were married on 2nd November last year at The Beach Hotel Merewether. Danielle says she couldn’t believe how calm she was on the day being married in front of 116 of their closest friends and family. The couple always wanted to get married by the ocean so this was the perfect, relaxed venue for their vintage styled reception.
Danielle reminisces about her journey and her beautiful engagement in Hawaii, “I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 26 and after my treatment finished we both booked a holiday to Hawaii. Jack needed to relax, drink lots of Hawaiian beer and spend days on the beach, and I needed the opportunity to relax and explore a different but happy place. We flew to the stunning island of Maui in the middle of our holiday which was PERFECT – white sand, still water, and just the perfect coastal location. Jack booked us dinner at Fleetwood’s on Front Street the first night we were there and the moment when he proposed was so incredibly beautiful. The sun was setting over the water, we had a perfect view on the balcony and the food was absolutely outstanding.”
The happy couple chose “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac as their wedding song. Danielle tells us the song was a perfect reflection of the moment they got engaged and how happy they both were. “We aren’t the type of people to slow dance to a typical Ed Sheeran song, so having such a classic and happy song was always going to be us!” recalls Danielle.
Jack and his groomsmen, Chris, Aidan, Owen and Michael, all wore 3-piece made to measure suits tailored by us in Holland & Sherry Mid Blue, Merino wool fabric, Brooksfield Luxe French Cuff Ivory Shirts, tan Buckle belts, ivory ties and Florsheim Regent tan shoes, which worked in perfectly with the vintage, beach side wedding theme. Danielle said about the experience, “My husband has wide shoulders and he has always found it hard to find a suit jacket that would fit him, and having the custom tailoring made Jack incredibly happy. The boys all found the experience easy and smooth.”
