Shane and Alanna met in August 2008 in Newcastle. Their first date was drinks at The Brewery, followed by dinner and coffee at Goldbergs on Darby Street.
Fast forward 10 years and the lovely couple wed in front of 64 of their closest friends and family by the lake at Awaba House.
This romantic setting by the lake has been the destination of many a lunch and afternoon tea outing for Alanna and Shane, making the venue an obvious choice for their special day.
“We both grew up in Lake Macquarie and wanted to get married somewhere on the lake, in a location that was meaningful for both of us,” Alanna says.
“We loved being surrounded by family and friends and getting married on a glorious day by the lake was just magical. There was such a lot of love in the air and it truly was a magical day.”
Alanna and Shane chose a relaxed, classic wedding theme for their wedding and chose Sittin’ on the dock of the lake by Otis Reading as their first dance.
“We both love the song and is what we were dancing to when Shane proposed,” says Alanna.
Shane and his groomsmen wore a Rundle Tailoring Denver three-piece wedding hire suit with an ivory French cuff shirt. The groom wore an Ensign ivory paisley tie and hanky and his groomsmen wore a Collezione royal blue tie and hanky, which tied in perfectly to the bridesmaid’s dresses and the beautiful lake setting.
The couple were very happy with their Rundle Tailoring experience.
“Rundle Tailoring’s wedding hire suits were just what we were looking for. The quality and value for money of the suits was considerably better than all other wedding suit hire businesses that we approached. Rundle Tailoring’s service was wonderful and their staff were extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and willing to help with everything.”
Rundle Tailoring Tip: One way to differentiate the groom from the groomsmen is for the groom to wear a different colour tie. Just like Shane who wore an ivory paisley tie to work in with Alanna’s ivory dress and his groomsmen wore royal blue to match the bridesmaid’s dresses.
